These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Trace app and website. By creating an account or using Trace, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Trace.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Trace. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for choosing a unique username, and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the traces and content you create. By posting content, you grant Trace a limited license to store, display, and share that content only as needed to operate the service and according to the visibility you choose (public, friends, or private). You are solely responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Trace to:

• post unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, or infringing content;
• violate the privacy or rights of others, or post someone's private information without consent;
• spam, scrape, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.

5. Posting limits

To keep the map meaningful and to protect the service, the number of traces you can publish may be limited (currently up to 3 per 24 hours for standard accounts). These limits may change.

6. Moderation

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are harmful, without prior notice.

7. Privacy

Your use of Trace is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

8. Disclaimer

Trace is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trace and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Termination

You may stop using Trace at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
